OverviewThe VIPer820 is the first half-size industrial single board computer to support Intel Pentium® Processor 200 MHz, as well as a long list of standard features and functions such as: 256 MB DRAM, 4 MB Flash EPROM, Fast SCSI II and PCI video for simultaneous flat panel and CRT operation.Advanced firmware technology is an integral part of the VIPer820 design. Teknor has been a pioneer in the field of integrating Flash technology into its industrial single board computers and the VIPer820 takes it one step further. It features a 4 megabyte bootable Flash disk and now a Boot Block Flash BIOS.In addition, the VIPer820 is developed with a Plug and Play compatible philosophy for easy peripheral interfacing and it supports advanced power management functions that reduce power consumption.The VIPer820 provides simultaneous flat panel and CRT control through a PCI video interface, as well as a feature connector for video overlay and digital video interface for asynchronous video inputs.Other built-in functions include a PCI Fast SCSI II disk interface with Symbios RISC engine and bootable BIOS; PCI IDE hard disk interface, serial, parallel, keyboard and mouse ports and supervisor utilities such as a watchdog timer and power failure detector.Designed primarily for high-speed portable systems, it is also well suited for embedded applications due to its ISA bus connector, PC/104 interface and standalone operation modes. Typical applications include portable/rugged computers, hand-held readers/scanners and factory floor man-machine interfaces.
