OverviewHoneywell’s VideoBloX matrix systems are uniquely flexible in their ability to interface with many devices, while providing interconnectivity to highspeed domes, pan-tilt zoom cameras, controllers, multiplexers, DVRs and other related CCTV equipment.Interconnectivity is achieved using Protocol Interface Translators (PITs). These devices are the true building blocks of the matrix system, converting the native protocol of the Honeywell matrix to the protocol of the connected device. Easy accessible DIP switches can be set to configure the PIT’s for specific applications.This flexibility extends itself to a full range of Honeywell Video devices, as well as other manufacturers’ CCTV devices making Honeywell’s VideoBloX matrix switch a truly integrated and adaptable solution to all retrofit applications and CCTV environments
ConnectionsThe PIT slave channel is the “incoming” channel and connects the matrix CPU (RS422 Master Port) to the PIT. For larger systems using multiple PITs, the PIT slave channel would be connected to the ports on a data port expander. The PIT master channel connects directly to the device, or devices, being controlled.
CommunicationsThe PIT slave channel, the connection to the matrix, is RS422. The PIT master channel, the connection to the connected device, is available as RS422.
Translators – PTZThe PIT includes translators for Honeywell Video Domes, as well as many other manufacturers’ products such as Pelco, Hitachi, Panasonic, Sensormatic, and others. Translators – Device ControlASCII string – text mode commands are transmitted from the PIT to the connected device.
Alarm ConcentratorThe PIT includes an I2C connector for various communications to I2C devices– either alarm inputs or control outputs. This provides the capability to remotely install alarm devices and connect to the Honeywell matrix switch via the PIT over RS422 communication.
