OverviewAIT’s VXI1553 module is a versatile, full-featured C-size VXIbus board designed for testing, simulation and monitoring MIL-STD-1553A/B avionics applications. One or two independent, dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553A/B databus streams can be configured on a single 1553 module. Each dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553 interface can independently and simultaneously simulate a Bus Controller (BC), up to 31 Remote Terminals (RTs), and provides a selectable, triggerable Bus Monitor (BM) for each bus.AIT’s VXI1553 module utilizes a simple, reliable, high performance FPGA-based hardware architecture and the highest data throughput in the industry on a flexible platform that can be easily adapted to meet a wide range of application needs. The VXI1553 boards are configured with 128 MBytes banks of onboard memory, providing ample capacity to support high volumes of data and complex simulations.An onboard IRIG-B time code decoder and generator allows users to accurately synchronize single or multiple VXI1553 boards to a common time source. AIT’s VXI1553 offers both software programmable transformer and direct coupling on the front panel to the data buses. The VXI1553 features Twinax BNC bus and stub connectors for easy integration.The VXI1553 is bundled with a VXI ‘Plug & Play’ driver software package. Application software can access the VXI1553 board using AIT’s high-level application programmer’s interface supporting C/C++, and LabView/LabWindows development environments.
