DescriptionSiemens ADBI-60 500-090930 Audible Base (For X or I Series) | MXL Intelligent Initiating Device/Base | for Intelligent Ionization Smoke Detectors
OverviewThe ADB-3 and ADBI-60 audible bases contain a prewired audible piezo-electric device that produces an 85db signal for localized annunciation. The ADB-3 is designed to be used with conventional Series 3 plug-in detectors. The ADBI-60 is designed for use with addressable analog “X” and intelligent “I” Series plug-in detectors. Typical application includes all areas that normally would require localized audible annunciation such as hotel, motel, apartment, condominium, and dormitory rooms. The ADB-3 and ADBI60 are UL listed and NYMEA approved.
OperationThe Audible Base Model ADBI-60 consists of a standard Cerberus Pyrotronics Series 3 base combined with supportive circuitry for the “X” and “I” Series Detectors and an audible device. All field wiring terminates at two of the fourposition terminal blocks located on the back of the unit. The ADBI-60 can be used with the MXL, MXL-IQ or IXL Systems.Several different configurations can provide audible signal circuit power to the ADBI-60 at terminals 1 through 4, as shown in diagrams 2, 3, 4 and 5 (See the typical Installation/Wiring Diagram Section). During the supervision state (no alarms), the polarity of the power to all ADBI-60’s is in reversed normal state, resulting in zero current flow to each base. When any alarm is reported to the system, the power to all ADBI-60’s reverses polarity, but no audible sounds. The system may then selectively command the ADBI-60, under programmed control, to become audible. All ADBI-60 bases are capable of sounding simultaneously, individually or in any combination depending upon the system Program and control panel. The ADBI-60 is UL 268 listed and achieves the audibility sound output of 85 decibels at ten feet.CAUTION: The ADBI-60 is not to be used for primary building evacuation, but only as a supplemental audible signal device.
