OverviewThe coolMONSTER (CMP/S) is a „all in one Intel® Pentium® MMXTm based slot PC with consistent low power design. Despite the very compact half size format its possible to integrate the PISA (PISA=PCI+ISA) bus and a full featured set of interfaces. The Low power Version of the Intel® Pentium® processor allows the usage of the board without active cooling in applications, where reliability and space Limitations are major requirements. It is now possible to create systems, combining high CPU performance with Low power consumption. Beside all standard interfaces (four serial ports, one as RS232 or R5485, EPP/ECP parallel port, if oppy, EIDE, (JSB and IRDA port) a Soundblaster compatible Soundchip and a high speed AGP video controller (C&T 69000) is available. It can operate CRT monitors and LCD fl at panels (mono, STN and TFT) in parallel. Flatpanel displays with resolutions up to 1280x1024 can be connected easily without dealing with jumper settings or display timings. The .]IPA interface, developed by .]UMPtec®, provides an autodetect mode, which initializes the video controller according to the connected display automatically. 2 MByte of video memory are already integrated on the graphic controller. Two EIDE ports are available to support various mass storage devices. The JUMPtec® chipDISK, a IDE compatible fl ash disk up to 96 MByte, can be attached directly. Additionally the coolMONSTER is equipped with a 10/100Base-T Ethernet (Twisted Pair). For operation in safety relevant applications, an intelligent watchdog is integrated as well.
