OverviewThe DIMM-PC/386 integrates the complete functionality of an 80386 SX motherboard with CPU, System-BIOS, 2 MByte to 4 MByte DRAM, keyboard-controller and real time clock.The DIMM-PB/386 is available in two versions: B and I.The B-version has a silicon disk with flash filing system integrated in the BIOS and can only be used with DOS.The I-version has a 4 to 8MB IDE compatible flash-harddisk onboard.Over his connector, integrated in board, the DIMM-PC/386 offers additional peripheral functions like COM1, COM2, LPT1, floppy-interface and IDE-harddisk-interface.The system runs with CPU clock speeds from 33MHz.The pinout of the DIMM-Bus connector correspond to the pinout of the ISA bus connector.Therefore the two PC systems with different form factor are electrically compatible.Only the Latchable adress-bus LA[17..23] and the signals of DMA 1,3,4 and 8 are not connected to the DIMM-PC-Bus.The 80386SX-solution is realized with a highly integrated CPU-chip of Acer Labs Inc.The DIMM modules are especially equipped for embedded applications with industrial BIOS extensions like setup-date in EEPROM as well as a remote control-function, allowing the operation with an external PC as terminal (software JRC-1).
